Idaho Backflow Certification

Backflow

One way to keep your cities drinking water clean is to install a Backflow device. A Backflow device ensures that water flows in one direction preventing contaminants from your secondary water system entering the potable water system. Sprinklers, Pools, Water Softeners, and Fire Suppression Systems are all examples of secondary water systems.

Why get tested every year?

A Backflow device is not a “set it and forget it” piece of equipment. There are internal components that can and will wear out over time. In order to ensure that your device is still working properly and will protect the drinking water, cities require an annual test and certification to be reported each Spring.

Who you gonna call?

Your city or irrigation district will have a list of approved Backflow Testers. The testers on these lists are certified by the state of Idaho as State Approved Backflow Testers. As the home/business owner, you are responsible for having the Backflow test completed and submitting it for approval. If the person you use to perform the test is not on the list or is not a State Approved Backflow Tester your test will not be approved and you could receive fines and even be held liable for any damages caused. North Idaho Backflow and Blowout are not only on the list of State Approved Backflow Testers but we will submit the Backflow Test Certification for you to your city or irrigation district.
